I created this piece as a response to the civil unrest happening in the streets right outside my front door. Being a young black woman, I constantly feel lost, uncontrollable anger and sadness, and a lack of autonomy, but all of this was heightened in 2020. I created vignettes that spoke to the issues that pained me most.
